"Gil Woolley, of Palo Alto, watches on Monday as a Caltrain picks up speed behind his Palo Alto home located on Mariposa Avenue. A group of Palo Alto residents plan to march against the California High-Speed Rail project which could require some property to be taken through eminent domain."

This should be a very interesting thing to follow! I know I would not even want a train in my back yard let alone a high speed strain!

Stanford vs Cal State Bakersfield

Stanford defeated Cal State 85-50

BorrowLenses.com let me borrow a 300 for this game. Thank you once again. With a 300 2.8L lens makes a huge difference getting some of those stellar shots you see in the magazines! I also got to play around with my new 16-35mm, and that was great as well!

Now the game was not packed like it usually is... not even the students who usually jump around and are crazy while the game proceeds was there... I guess everyone is watching gold or is at the SAP open down in San Jose.

So since there was not a huge crowed i had the chance to move around and get some angles i have not tried yet. I think it paid off fairly well, i was able to find my sweet spot, now i need to start using remotes!

Though the game was a blow out the photo opportunities for action did not lack. Enjoy the photos!

Washington State at Stanford

I shot another Southcreek Sports Media assignment a few days ago and this was probably one of the worst games I shot as far as photographic capturing of the game.

A lot of the shots where from the outside instead of drives to the hoop.

It can be very frustrating when you are on deadline and you know you need to turn in good work for usage of major publications.

After a rough first half the pace picked up again.

MLB Spring Traning

Spring training is coming up and I need to take a week off from work, a mandatory no paid week... so I am looking to go to Arizona and cover spring training... why not... Any one gonna be there?

Oregon State at Stanford

Oregon State was not favored to win, but when you have your starting point on the bench I guess there is a better possibility that you will loose.

I know when our team (my basketball team for my church)was missing our point we lost our games because here was no control. Any way enjoy the photos.

24 January 2009: Beavers head coach and President Barack Obama's brother-in-law Craig Robinson during game action in the first half. The Stanford Cardinals trails the Oregon State Beavers 28 - 34 at the half held at Maples Pavilion in Stanford CA

22 January 2009: Cardinals guard Landry Fields (2) dunks the ball during game action in the first half. The Stanford Cardinals lead the Oregon Ducks 40 - 18 at the half held at Maples Pavilion in Stanford CA

This was my first shoot with south creek and i mus say i was pleased with my results.

The game was not very fast pace but always fun to shoot basketball.

St. Francis High School Basketball

What a game! I wish I could of spent the whole game shooting but deadlines are deadlines.

I ended up only shooting the first half of the games and the energy was high and the gym was packed.

One thing I witnessed and you do not witness this often (Nothing like the Barack Obama Inauguration ceremony today) in this area is High Schoolers dunking, and ever more rare is when some one dunks over some one!

The reaction of the bench and the people was unreal!

This game brought back some memories from the South San Francisco against El Camino games where the place would stack up with parents and students to watch us play.

Former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf

Former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, gives a speech to a crowed gathered in the Memorial Auditorium at Stanford on Friday. Musharraf visited Stanford to give a speech called "Terrorism and Extremism - The Need for a Holistic Approach."

I ended up photographing the former President of Pakistan for a news assignment. He talked about his views on the way we should approach Terrorism and Extremism. It was an interesting speech and an interesting point of view. Enjoy the photos.
