Today I had the chance to hang out with cheerleaders. Who would of thought that there is so much money that goes into the sport. The camp set up here included High School cheerleaders as part of a fund raiser. For more info listen in.

Typical Military
I was reading a post regarding a war photographer today (here)and reminded me of an experience I had while in the Navy. They told him to leave!
A huge accident happened on the flight deck of the ship I was stationed on in a war zone where a bunch of sailors where killed or injured we as photographer where told to leave... but we had a job to do. The end result it did not go well but I was able to get out of it. Here is a video with the individual talking about his experience.

So a lot of us know about the Yo-Yo's we used to use when we where kids... I don't even think I was ever able to "walk the dog" this kid... well lets just say I never seen yoyo skills like this before...

Redwood City resident Vincent DeZutti, 14, will fly to Orlando, Florida next weekend to compete in the 2008 World Yo-Yo Contest, which is expected to draw 250 of the best yo-yo tricksters from more than 20 countries.

Fire in Palo Alto Calif.
There was a fire yesterday in Palo Alto... wished I could have gotten closer but it was on private property and I don't think the owner was very happy I was there...

A CalFire chopper helps Palo Alto and Menlo Park firefighters fight a blaze
at the Palo Alto landfill on Wednesday night. The fire was first reported at
around 5:15 p.m. The smoke from the blaze could be seen as far away as
Mountain View.

Bank of the West Tennis

To day I had the chance to shoot at the Bank of the West Tennis Tournament held at Stanford University for the newspaper I work for (Daily News Group). The first match was between Japan's Ai Sugiyama and Slovakia's Dominika Cubulkova. Great match all the way to the end. The second match of the night was between Serena Williams and Parry Schnyder.
